Art Center Camera Club February Competition

Judges Choice

The Art Center Camera Club held its February Competition recently. Two photographers received top honors with their works.

Charlie’s photograph was taken when he saw this leaf floating in the water with a blue reflection last summer. He grabbed his camera and took the picture. The settings were: f/5.6 at 1/640 sec and an ISO of 1000. The lens was a cannon 100-400mm zoom turned to 400mm. The shot was taken with his Canon 5D Mark IV.

Charlie Hatton “Catching a Ride”

Dick’s photograph was taken while on a photo tour of Norway. Several photographers from around the world attend this special trip to Norway where master photographer Samuel Sciehana taught photographers the joy of winter photography in Norway.

Dick Coffman “Lofoten, Norway”

Dick took this picture while photographing at the Lofoten island fjords. Dick used a tripod-mounted Sony 7R Mark III with a 50mm prime lens shooting at 1/50 sec using f/16 shutter opening with an ISO of 125. The low ISO accounts for the wonderful rich colors of the shot.

The camera club holds five digital competitions each year for its members. The next competition is on April 8th at 7pm at the Art Center Grand Hall. All members are invited to participate with any picture taken within the last few years. This is an “Open” competition so any type of photograph is welcome to enter.
