The Arts Academy was founded by the Art Center Executive board in the Spring of 2011 with the purpose of fulfilling the educational goals of the organization. These goals are threefold:  to provide instruction in all art forms; to provide venues for students’ artistic expression; provide students of all ages classes at an affordable price. 

General Information

Instructors: All Arts Academy instructors and assistants are talented community volunteers dedicated to the development of the arts through our community art center.

Class Availability: Classes fill up quickly, so early registration is advised.

Volunteer Opportunities: If you have an artistic talent and are interested in volunteering to instruct a future class, please email:  artcenterofcitruscounty@gmail.com or call the office at 352-746-7606 to discuss this option.

Youth Programs

Registration: To register for youth programs, you can call the Art Center Box Office at 746-7606 or register in person on the opening day. Email registrations are not accepted. Registration dates and times are posted under the “Youth Class” button on the Art Center website, on the calendar, and on the Art Center’s Facebook Youth page. Payment is due at the time of registration unless other arrangements have been made, and tuition fees are non-refundable.

Class Details

  • Class Size
    • Drama classes are limited to 25 to 30 children, depending on the production.
    • Art Classes are limited to 12 students.
  • Holiday Weeks: No youth classes are scheduled during holiday weeks.
  • Scheduling: For scheduling details, refer to the yellow “Youth Classes” button on the website.

Adult Art Class Programs & Member Groups

  • We have member art groups that meet every day of the week. These are available to members at no extra cost. They are active from September to June.
  • Art Class size: Limited to 12.
  • Scheduling: For scheduling date and time information, go to the yellow Adult Classes button.
  • Materials list: Please go to our calendar on the Art Center web site.

To register: call the Art Center Box Office (hours 1-4, Mon-Fri) at 746-7606 or come in on the day registration opens; payment is due at the time of registration.
