Monday Drawing and Acrylic Painters of the Art Center

Join the DAAP’ers (Drawing and Acrylic Painters) every Monday from 12:00 to 3:30 at the Art Center for an afternoon of either drawing or acrylic painting with fellow artists with any skill level—beginner to advanced. Activities will include projects in drawing and acrylic mediums with tutorial help to DYOT (do-your-own-thing). Bring your own tools and materials, there will be fun projects and great camaraderie—so join us. All you need to do is be a member ($35 annually beginning Sept. 1 each year) by calling 746-7606 to register for the group or try it out as a guest for one visit and see how much learning and laughing in Art can be.

Learn to Draw What You See

Mondays 9:30 to 11:00 Beginning Sept 29, ending Dec 15

Beginning to Intermediate

This 12 week course will take you through the process of how to block out the human figure so that proportions, scale and perspective are maintained. The course will begin with the discussions on drawing contours and shape without diving too deeply into the muscular definitions that develop the forms. Though this is not an advanced figure drawing class, an elementary understanding of contour drawing, drawing relationships and perspective are essential prerequisites for this class.

The drawing materials you will need for the drawing class are: Bring 2b, 4b, 6b and 2h pencils; Bienfang or strathmore medium tooth drawing paper 11×14 pad; kneaded eraser/magic rub eraser and a oversized clip board to attach paper to. We will also be adding charcoal black, white and sienna to this list for this session.
