Join the DAAP’ers (Drawing and Acrylic Painters) every Monday from 12:00 to 3:30 at the Art Center for an afternoon of either drawing or acrylic painting with fellow artists with any skill level—beginner to advanced. Activities will include projects in drawing and acrylic mediums with tutorial help to DYOT (do-your-own-thing). Bring your own tools and materials, there will be fun projects and great camaraderie—so join us. All you need to do is be a member ($35 annually beginning Sept. 1 each year) by calling 746-7606 to register for the group or try it out as a guest for one visit and see how much learning and laughing in Art can be.
The Art Center of Citrus County Invites Entries from Artists
Submissions are invited from area artists for the upcoming September Exhibit No. 1 for the 2018-2019 season.
Open to everyone over the age of 18, two-dimensional artists are welcome to submit their work for this juried exhibit in the categories of Paintings: Oil and Acrylic, Graphics and Mixed Media, Paintings: Water Media and Photography: Black and White and Color.
Entries for the exhibit may be dropped off at the Art Center on September 19, 2018 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and picked up on October 31, 2018 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The entry fee for members is $15 for two works, $30 for two works for nonmembers and $5 for each additional work up to five.
Awards will be given in the above categories and artists may offer their works for sale. A complete prospectus is available on the Art Center website.
Jurist for this exhibit will be local Ocala artist Bonnie Eads. Best known for figurative watercolor paintings, she is also known for her work in polymer clay. An award-winning artist, including Best of Show at Great Day in the Country, Oviedo, Fl., she is affiliated with several art organizations including Marion Cultural Alliance, Gainesville Fine Art Association and Rainbow Springs Art, Dunnellon.
The exhibition is free, open to the public and may be viewed Monday through Friday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and
during every performance of the Art Center Theater through October 7. A complete schedule of events can be
