Characters:

Leona Crump-  50+, all brass and sass, and dripping with sarcasm.  She is a sour, judgmental, neighborhood snoop, and champion marigold horticulturist.

Judy Harrison-  Late 20s to early 30s, a neighbor in the cul-de-sac.  She is sweet and naive.  Judy doubles as Bambi, Gafina’s sister.  Provocatively dressed, never speaks but flirts a lot.

Gafina Hambefferschmidt- New to the neighborhood.  30 to 50 years old.  Obnoxious with an annoying “machine gun” laugh.

Rose Bush-  30+ A successful, eccentric real estate saleswoman whose trademark is a rose bush.  Dressed for success.

Ava- any age.  A saleswoman of various cosmetics and goods.  Dresses to the nines with loads of makeup and hair.  Not afraid to match wits or fists with Leona.  Doubles as Mawtilda Feeshenshelbafield, Gafina’s intrusive hillbilly mother.  Wig or hair in curlers type with not-so- pretty teeth.

Albert- Leona’s husband.  50+  Retired career soldier, now the epitome of the couch potato.

Paul Harrison- Judy’s husband.  Late 20s to 40.  Likes to spell out homophones, eats every time he visits Leona’s house.

George- A mailman, 50+.  Easygoing but Leona gets under his skin, and he reciprocates.

Turner-  Gafina’s simple- minded boyfriend.  30 to 50 years old.  At home in his overalls, ear-flapped cap, and an undershirt.

Officer Frank (or Francis) Doonan- (gender flexible role of any age) Takes his/her job seriously but could have used a bit more training.
