Edward was a successful, beloved psychiatrist — until he was framed for the murder of one of his patients. He seeks the help of fellow psychiatrist, Dr. Smith, but when their meeting doesn’t go as planned, Edward must depend on the guidance of Dr. Smith’s eccentric, psychic patient Lydia to find justice for his wrongful conviction. Tensions rise as the two must deal with a theatre-loving detective, a set of twins, a gun-toting gangster, and Edward’s new wife. The high stakes translate to big laughs in this comedic thriller.

Those auditioning will be asked individually to read excerpts from the show based on their character preferences and the director’s choosing. EDWARD (man, 30+ years old, 80 pages): former beloved psychiatrist now on the run
DR. SMITH/SAM (any gender, 30+ years old, 54 pages): Dr. Smith is a psychiatrist with inner demons, Sam is their honest-hearted security guard twin
LYDIA (woman, 20+ years old, 60 pages): Dr. Smith’s eccentric, psychic patient with a big heart and a keen intuition
SUZANNE (woman, 30+ years old, 28 pages): Edward’s newlywed wife who is suspicious but unaware of his past, she is reasonably upset and angry, but loveable
THE DETECTIVE (any gender, 20-29 years old, 31 pages): hired by Suzanne to investigate Edward, theatre-loving, flamboyant, dramatic
THE GANGSTER (any gender, any age, 11 pages): loud, brassy, one of the gangsters of old and dresses the part
